Livingway URT is proud to own and operate a groundbreaking “Carbon Credit” programme in Tanzania. This unique initiative is already underway and aims to make a significant impact in reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation while promoting sustainable development and conservation efforts.

The mission of the Carbon Credit programme is multi-fold:

The Carbon Credit Programme

To ensure the success and effectiveness of our Carbon Credit programme, Livingway URT has partnered with key organizations such as the Tanzania Forest Service Agency and REDD+ Carbon and Biodiversity Advisors Limited.
The Carbon Credit programme has clear objectives that align with sustainable forest management, community livelihoods, and the well-being of current and future generations.


These objectives include:

  • Enhancing forest governance through stakeholder engagement, particularly involving local communities, to ensure sustainable forest resource management.
  • Promoting sustainable forest management that balances economic development, forest conservation, and community livelihoods.
  • Addressing key drivers of deforestation and degradation by providing incentives for sustainable forest conservation and management, emphasizing shared responsibilities in natural resource management.
